To provide a zirconia reinforcing agent and a method for a reinforcing zirconia sintered body which enable provision of an all-ceramic dental crown restoration material with increased mechanical strength.SOLUTION: The zirconia reinforcing agent comprises monoclinic zirconia particles. Provided is a method for reinforcing a zirconia sintered body for improving the mechanical strength of the zirconia sintered body, which is obtained by sintering a tetragonal stabilized zirconia semi-sintered body or a partially stabilized zirconia semi-sintered body shaped in a designated form, the method for reinforcing the zirconia sintered body including forming a monoclinic zirconia phase on a surface of the zirconia sintered body. Alternatively, the zirconia reinforcing agent comprises zirconia particles with an average primary particle diameter of 30 nm or less, and the method for reinforcing the zirconia sintered body includes coating the zirconia reinforcing agent to at least a part of the surface of the zirconia sintered body, and heat-treating the zirconia sintered body with the zirconia reinforcing agent coated thereon.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
