To provide a unit space generation device, a plant diagnostic system, a unit space generation method, a plant diagnostic method, and a program capable of reducing mis-detection of abnormal state in a load fluctuation.SOLUTION: A unit space generation device 141 which generates a unit space used when diagnosing the operating state of a plant on the basis of the Mahalanobis distance, includes: a sampling data acquiring unit 141A which acquires a sampling data group of the state quantity of the plant which is measured in a predetermined period; an adoption determining unit 141C which determines adoption of the sampling data group as a unit space generation data group based on a unit space with a predetermined adoption probability; and a unit space generation unit 141D which generates a unit space on the basis of the plurality of adopted unit space generation data groups.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
