To provide an accurate extraction method of carbide and/or nitride, an analysis method thereof, and an electrolytic solution therefor, in which a mass balance is obtained metallurgically.SOLUTION: Provided is an extraction method of carbide and/or nitride in a metal material by etching the metal material in an electrolytic solution, in which the electrolytic solution containing 0.5 to 20 vol.% of triethylenetetramine is used. Also provided are an analysis method of the carbide and/or nitride, an analysis method of a quantity of solid solution carbon and/or a quantity of solid solution nitrogen in the metal material, and an electrolytic solution used therefor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
