To provide a granulation method of coal ash capable of easily adjusting particle diameter or particle shape.SOLUTION: There is provided a granulation method of coal ash including mixing and stirring a coal ash from which free calcium component is removed and a first liquid to make a slurry, and dropping out the produced slurry to a second liquid and gelatinizing the same. By removing the free calcium component from the coal ash, aggregation of the coal ash in the first liquid is prevented, and granulation of the coal ash is available. The first liquid can be a sodium alginate aqueous solution or a potassium alginate aqueous solution and the second liquid can be a calcium chloride aqueous solution or a barium chloride aqueous solution. Free calcium component concentration in the coal ash is preferably 0.15 mass% or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
