To provide an auxiliary tool that is easily detachable while effectively preventing sediment and the like from intruding.SOLUTION: An auxiliary tool 50 is used for constructing an impervious wall 1 formed of impervious wall members 10 which are installed in parallel, and each of which includes: a male joint part 30; and a female joint part 20 formed with a slit 21 allowing the male joint part 30 to be inserted therein. The auxiliary tool 50 comprises: closing members 51, 53 that can close the slit 21; and biasing mechanisms 54, 55 that can selectively switch between a biasing state and a release state. In the biasing state, the slit 21 is closed by pressing the closing members 51, 53 toward the slit 21 to contact at least a part of the closing members 51, 53 to both side ends of the slit 21. In the release state, the closing members 51, 53 can be separated from the slit 21.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
