To provide a performance management apparatus and a performance management system capable of reducing a communication amount in communication with a management server as compared with a case where each of a plurality of image forming apparatuses transmits usage information to the management server each time the image forming apparatus is used.SOLUTION: A performance management apparatus 16 includes a first reception unit 20-1 for receiving, from a management server 14, usage information on usage of an image forming apparatus 12 by a user and charge information on the usage of the image forming apparatus 12, a second reception unit 20-2 for receiving, from the image forming apparatus 12, record information on use records of the image forming apparatus 12 by the user, an updating unit 22 for updating the usage information from the charge information and the record information, and a first transmission unit 24-1 for collectively gathering updated usage information of the plurality of image forming apparatuses 12 at a predetermined time to transmit the updated usage information to the management server 14.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
