To provide a parametric event driven critical illness insurance system and a method for risk sharing of critical illness risks associated with elderly persons.SOLUTION: A resource-pooling system comprises an assembly module to process risk-related component data and to provide the likelihood of the risk exposure for one or more of pooled risk exposure components on the basis of data. The risk exposure components are connected to the resource-pooling system for the pooling of their risks and resources. The resource-pooling system comprises a multiple-event driven core engine with critical illness triggers triggering in a patient dataflow pathway to provide risk protection for a specific risk exposure component for occurrence of acute and/or chronic critical illnesses.
