To provide a method for producing a copper nanoparticle powder capable of obtaining a dispersion reflecting a former nanoparticle size under extremely moderate conditions of efficiently pulverizing a copper nanoparticle water dispersion using spray drying, vibration-mixing by hand when mixed in a solvent, performing ultrasonic irradiation in a brief time and so on.SOLUTION: A method for producing a metal nanoparticle powder by spray drying a water dispersion of a metal nanoparticle. In the method for producing a copper nanoparticle powder, the metal nanoparticle is a copper nanoparticle composited with a carbon count 8-200 of polyethylene-oxide-contained organic compound, so that a surface plasmon resonance absorption is observed in a dispersion obtained by mixing with a solvent.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
