PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for generating an approximation model of a structure, a device for generating the approximation model of the structure, and a program in which the approximation model has high accuracy and a calculation amount and a calculation time can be reduced.SOLUTION: A method for generating an approximation model of a structure corresponds to a plurality of kinds of design variables defining a structure and materials constituting the structure; and a plurality of characteristic values defining the structure and the materials constituting the structure. The method comprises: setting the plurality of kinds of design variables, a domain of each of the design variables, and a plurality of kinds of the characteristic values; determining nonlinear response relations between the plurality of kinds of design variables and the plurality of kinds of characteristic values; calculating an output value in a characteristic value space composed of values of the plurality of kinds of design variables and the characteristic values by using the nonlinear response relations; setting at least one output value to perturb an input parameter value in the output value and obtaining an additional output value; generating an approximation model using the additional output value and the output value in the characteristic value space; and performing a multipurpose optimization calculation using the approximation model to obtain a Pareto solution.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
