Various communication systems can benefit from being able to communicate without having to assign a specific identifier. For example, some wireless communication systems can benefit from machine-type communication using mobile-originated short message services without mobile station international subscriber directory numbers. The method can include preparing a mobile originated short message service message at a user device.
