PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dimming material using a liquid crystal, in which a liquid crystal material can be aligned in a desired direction even in a spacer peripheral region.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal alignment film 3 is provided, which includes at least an alignment layer 13B disposed on a transparent substrate 11B and sandwiches a liquid crystal material 4 together with a counter film material 2 to form a liquid crystal cell 5. The alignment layer 13B is formed of a molding resin, the surface of which is formed into a rugged pattern with fine lines. A spacer 14 to hold the thickness of a layer 4A of the liquid crystal material 4 is integrally formed together with the alignment layer 13B by using the molding resin.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
