PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make compatible both the improvement of the collection efficiency of an oil mist and the suppression of an increase of a pressure loss.;SOLUTION: A filter element 30 is formed into a cylindrical shape, arranged in a recirculation passage for making a blowby gas of an internal combustion engine recirculate to an intake passage, and employed to an oil mist separator for collecting and separating an oil mist contained in the blowby gas. The filter element 30 has a cylindrical filtering part 33 in which a first fiber layer 31 whose fiber diameter is 0.1 to 3 μm, and its basis weight is 1 to 5 g/m2, and a second fiber layer 32 whose fiber diameter is 20 to 100 μm, and its basis weight is 20 to 90 g/m2 are sequentially laminated in a flow direction of the blowby gas, and the density of the first fiber layer 31 is higher than the density of the second fiber layer 32.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4;COPYRIGHT: (C)2019,JPO&INPIT
