PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electroporation device and method capable of executing electroporation with a small amount of a sample, in which a sample is hardly contaminated.;SOLUTION: An electroporation device 1 comprises: a vertical electrode 2 formed of a lower side electrode 21 having an electrode surface and an upper side electrode 22 having another electrode surface; and a voltage application device 3 for applying a voltage to a space between the lower and upper side electrodes 21, 22. A sample S is held between both electrode surfaces in a manner of being separated from other members. The lower side electrode 21 is fixed in a state in which a support table 23 is made to penetrate in a vertical direction.
