PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel cleaning device which can smoothly perform carrying-in/carrying-out work of a carriage with respect to a wheel cleaning position.;SOLUTION: A wheel cleaning device 1 causes a wheel 4 of a carriage 3 to ride on a wheel support plate 20 existing at a cleaning position p1. The device lowers the wheel support plate 20, thereby causing the wheel 4 to lower and ride on the a wheel rotary roller 40. In this state, the device pushes a cleaning rotary brush 51 onto the wheel 4 from a lower side, thereby cleaning the wheel 4. After cleaning, the cleaning rotary brush 51 is retracted to a position at which the brush does not interfere with the wheel support plate 20, the wheel support plate 20 is lifted, and the wheel 4 after cleaning in the state of riding on the wheel rotary roller 40 is lifted to a height same as that of a carriage conveyance passage 2 by the wheel support plate 20. A work for dropping the wheel 4 from a conveyance surface and a work for lifting the wheel onto the conveyance surface for the purpose of cleaning thereof become unnecessary, and an impact or a large control force is not required, and therefore, conveyance of the carriage for the purpose of wheel cleaning can be smoothly performed.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2;COPYRIGHT: (C)2019,JPO&INPIT
