PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical encoder unit and an optical encoder capable of stably rotating a rotating shaft of a shaft.;SOLUTION: An optical encoder unit includes: a light source 41; an optical scale 11; an optical sensor unit 35 for detecting incidence light obtained by transmitting or reflecting light source light from the light source 41 through or by the optical scale 11, respectively; a shaft 12 to which the optical scale 11 is attached; and a first bearing 26A and a second bearing 26B for rotatably supporting the shaft 12.
