PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To associate an event as an object of factor analysis with an assumed factor of the event even when data for use in factor analysis does not include any singularity, in accordance with one embodiment of this invention.;SOLUTION: A factor analysis device in one embodiment of this invention analyzes an association between an object event as an object of factor analysis and an assumed factor assumed to be a factor of the object event and comprises a similarity calculation unit, a first influence degree calculation unit, and a second influence degree calculation unit. The similarity calculation unit calculates a similarity between a data item included in a given time series data and the assumed factor. The first influence degree calculation unit calculates a first degree of influence indicative of a degree of influence upon the object event of the data item on the basis of time series data relating to the data item and time series data relating to the object event.
