PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting method capable of more reducing processing time.;SOLUTION: A cutting method comprises: a cutting height positioning step of positioning a cutting blade 33 to a predetermined height to be cut at a start point P1 of a plate-like workpiece W; a cutting step of cutting the plate-like workpiece W with the cutting blade 33 and forming a cutting groove G; a cutting blade rising step of moving the cutting blade 33 to the start point P1 from an end point E1 of the cutting groove G while rising the cutting blade 33 which reaches to the end point E1; and an index feeding step of feeding the cutting blade 33 to a sequential division line S after a lower end 33a of the cutting blade 33 is positioned at a portion upper than a front surface Wa of the plate-like workpiece W in the cutting blade rising step, and positioning the cutting blade 33 to an upper direction of a sequential start point P2.
