PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for reducing oxidation accelerating substances produced in nuclear power generation and contained in used fuel poo water, extending a life of ion exchange resin in a fuel pool water purifier, and reducing a replacement frequency of the ion exchange resin.SOLUTION: A nuclear-power-generation used fuel pool water purification method includes the steps of: conducting nuclear-power-generation used fuel pool water to a nuclear-power-generation used fuel pool water purifier filled with metal-carrying resin stacked on a surface layer of ion exchange resin at a layer height of 2 cm or more and 10 cm or less at a flow rate in a range equal to or more than 30 m/h and equal to or lower than 50 m/h; decomposing an oxidation accelerating substance including hydrogen peroxide solution contained in the used fuel pool water; and then causing the used fuel pool water to contact the ion exchange resin, where a decomposition rate of the hydrogen peroxide is 90% or more.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
