PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new steel material for a bearing, which is extremely excellent in rolling contact fatigue property and in which early peeling can be suppressed.SOLUTION: The steel material for a bearing, excellent in rolling contact fatigue property related to the present invention contains predetermined in-steel components, and oxide-based inclusion having a minor axis of 1 μm or more contained in the steel satisfies requirements of following formulae (1) and (2). (1) An average composition contains, by mass%, CaO:10 to 50%, AlO:10 to 50%, SiO:20 to 70%, TiO:1.0 to 40% and the balance impurities and satisfies CaO+AlO+SiO+TiO≥60%. (2) The number percentage of the oxide-based inclusion having TiN generated at a boundary between the oxide-based inclusion and the steel is 30% or more of the whole oxide-based inclusion.SELECTED DRAWING: None
