reverse-time migration with absorbing and random boundaries. Images related to a subsoil region can be generated based at least in part on a back-source wave field and a receiver wave field. A source wave field can be propagated directly in time from an initial wave field state, from an initial time state to an end time state, through a terrestrial model associated with the subsoil region. The back-propelled source wave field can be determined by back-propagating the source wave field, from the final time state to the initial time state, through the terrestrial model to reconstruct the initial wave field state. The receiver wave field can be propagated from the final time state through the terrestrial model. The terrestrial model may include at least one boundary region which may be defined as having one or more absorbent characteristics, amplification characteristics, randomly disturbed characteristics and / or other characteristics. as such, the wave fields may be damped, amplified, randomly distributed and / or otherwise modified in at least one boundary region. These wave fields can be used to construct underground region images with signal-to-noise ratios.
