method for recovering hydrochloric acid and metal from a chloride liquor, use of a matrix solution, reactor for recovering hydrochloric acid and for metal oxidation / hydrolysis from the metal chloride solution and process for recovering hydrochloric acid and oxidation Ferrous iron hydrolysis from a ferrous chloride solution is a method for recovering hydrochloric acid and metal oxides from a chloride liquor. The method comprises: providing a chloride liquor that includes the metal and mixing the liquor and a matrix solution to produce a reaction mixture, wherein the matrix solution assists the oxidation / hydrolysis of the metal with HCl production. In a preferred embodiment, the matrix solution comprises zinc chloride in various stages of hydration and an oxygen-containing gas is added to the mixture. therefore, the present invention discloses a method wherein the enhancement is a mixture of a liquor and a matrix solution wherein the solution assists the hydrolysis of the metal with the production of hcl. The reactor is a column reactor in a preferred embodiment. The use of the matrix solution and a reactor to recover hydrochloric acid and for oxidation / hydrolysis of a metal is also disclosed.
