In this invention, the transformation of the second generation biomass into a biopetroleum is demonstrated using organic reagents obtainable from the biomass itself in the presence of a catalytic amount of acid. The process may occur in batches in a semi-continuous or continuous manner. furthermore, the process may be carried out in the presence of solvents or solvent mixture added simultaneously or sequentially. as solvents were used 2,5-hexanedione, pure or in the presence of furan derivatives, or a typical diesel of fcc. In the semi-continuous process, compounds derived from the hemicellulose, cellulose and lignin fractions can be selectively extracted, depending on the process conditions. Biopetrols are more stable and less polar than liquids designated as bio-oils obtained from thermal biomass processes. therefore, the liquids produced (depending on the opening condition) by the present invention are soluble in petroleum derivatives and produce more stable systems with this one. therefore, they are more easily transported and co-processed along with oil loads in various refining processes similar to the up-, midle and down-stream sectors of the oil industry. The present invention further relates to biopetroleum obtained by said process as bp.
