Recombinant xylonic acid producing komagataella phaffii and method for the production of xylonic acid from xylose. The present invention describes a new and inventive method of producing xylonic acid from xylose using recombinant microorganisms. The invention further provides nucleic acid molecules and other elements, method of producing recombinant microorganisms, as well as microorganisms incorporating such elements, demonstrating their effectiveness in xylonic acid synthesis and illustrating one of several application possibilities.
