The present invention refers to the use of zeolite ZSM -22 mesoporoso in a process for cracking or converting a compound hydrocarbon feed, such as that obtained from processing crude oil, into a mixture rich in propylene. In addition, this invention refers to the field of fluidized catalytic cracking processes (fcc) and refers to the preparation and use of additives based on zeolites with increased mesoporosity, as amended ZSM -22. More particularly, this invention disseminates a process to improve the production of propylene in units of FCC.
