The present invention relates to a method for preventing, improving or treating white spot virus (WSSV) in Litopenaeus Vannamei, characterized by providing methanolic extracts from two microalgae Ulva Lactuca and Caulerpa Sertularioides. Also, it refers to a method for obtaining methanolic extracts of said microalgae, which includes collecting Ulva Lactuca and Caulerpa Sertularioides Microalgae, obtaining microalgae extracts, and determining antiviral activity in the presence of white spot virus of the different extracts by immersion. According to the method, in the viral challenge in the presence of the WSSV, it is found that after 14 days post-infection, the non-infected control does not present mortalities, while the virus-infected control (C2) has a 40% cumulative mortality.
