A method for the production of light hydrocarbons from gas with high methane content, using solid oxide fuel cells, characterized by using a solid oxide fuel cell comprising a nanostructured or non-nanostructured anode with a chemical composition based on lanthanum aluminate LaAl1-xMxO3, in which M corresponds to a chemical element among transition elements such as Mn, Cr, Ti, V, Co, Cu; wherein x represents a content in the range of 35 to 50% by mole; gaseous or gasifiable fuels rich in methane being supplied to the cell for the co-production of electrical energy and light hydrocarbons, rich in the C2 fraction.
