A material conveying system, comprising: a plurality of material sources forproviding material to be transferred; a plurality of destination locations forreceivingmaterial from one or more of the plurality of material sources, wherein eachdestinationlocation has a destination material inlet valve and a destination vacuumvalve; a pluralityof material conveying tubes; a plurality of vacuum pumps wherein each vacuumpump isoperatively connected to one or more of the destination vacuum valves via oneor morevacuum source tubes, and wherein each of the vacuum pumps is operativelyconnected toone or more of the material sources through the one or more vacuum sourcetubes andrespective destination vacuum valves, the one or more destination locationsand one ormore of the plurality of material conveying tubes; a first sensor disposed onor near eachdestination vacuum valve; a second sensor disposed on or near each materialinlet valve;a third sensor disposed on or near a vacuum outlet of each of the vacuumpumps; aprogrammable system controller connected, via wires or wirelessly, to eachcomponent ofthe material conveying system including the one or more material sources, theone ormore destination locations, the vacuum pumps and to each of the first, secondand thirdsensors; wherein the programmable controller is configured to determine whichmaterialsources and destination locations are operatively connected, directly andindirectly, toeach of the plurality of vacuum pumps using one or more of the first, secondand thirdsensors.
