A determination method for a DPF comprises: an acquisition step in which heat damage information, which indicates the extent of heat damage to a DPF (20) that is mounted in a first work machine (1) and that includes a DOC (22) and a CSF (23), is acquired on the basis of a unique identifying symbol of the DPF (20), and cumulative heat damage information is acquired by accumulating the heat damage information; and a determination step in which a determination is made, on the basis of the cumulative heat damage information, as to whether the DPF (20) can be used.
