The present invention provides a smart terminal based song audition method and system. The song audition method comprises the following steps: the song playing interface of the smart terminal receiving a gesture operation with a sliding direction; obtaining, according to the sliding direction, a control instruction corresponding to the gesture operation; if the sliding direction is a first direction, saving and downloading the currently-played first song; and if the sliding direction is a second direction, stopping playing the first song, and switching to play a second song. The song audition system comprises: a receiving module, a parsing module and a control module. The technical solution provided by the present invention is able to simplify operations of a user to save, download and switch a song, providing convenience to users.
