The present invention relates to a system (100) and method (200) for identifying concern evolution within temporal and geospatial windows. The system (100) comprises a data extraction module (10), a context knowledge base generation module (20) to construct a context knowledge base, CKB (12) by referring to a domain knowledge base, DKB (11), and a meta-data enrichment module (30). The system further (100) comprises a subjectivity analysis module (40) for determining sentiments and emotions using a subjectivity model (13), a negative identification module (50) for determining negative concept prominence by computing a negative prominence score, a negativity subjectivity score and a final concern score; and a concern evolution module (60) for determining concern evolution within temporal and geospatial windows based on the concepts and the computed score.
