Provided is a work process design assistance method for assisting with designing a work process, wherein a computer: accepts work process definition information; extracts, from the definition information, data items, roles for executing the process, descriptions of tasks processed by the roles for each of the data items, and a message transmission-reception relation among the roles, and generates a model of the work process; selects a preset information management element; executes a simulation for applying the selected information management element to the model; and on the basis of the result of the simulation, assesses whether the selected information management element is applicable to the model.
