Provided is a parallel union control technology that enables a union process for sorted sets to be carried out at high speed using a parallel computer. A parallel union control device 100 according to an embodiment of the present invention uses a parallel computer containing N (N being an integer of 2 or greater) computation devices and vector registers to carry out a parallel union process for each pair of 2N input sets, each of which is a sorted set, and output N output sets, each of which is a sorted set. The parallel union control device comprises: an element comparison control unit 101 that causes each of the N computation devices to sequentially compare input elements of a pair of input sets which are to be subjected to a union process and are stored in an input operand register of the vector registers, to select one of the input elements as an output element of the output set on the basis of the comparison result and store the selected input element in an output operand register of the vector registers, and to move a pointer indicating the input element; a register input/output unit 102 that loads the 2N input sets from a memory into the input operand register, and stores the N output sets from the output operand register in the memory; and an end determination unit 103 that determines whether the union process being carried out in parallel has ended.
