The embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method, device and storage medium for protecting a work based on a blockchain. The method comprises receiving, from an author device of the work, certification information and work description information associated with the work, the certification information indicating that a copyright of the work has been certified by a certification authority; assigning a unique identifier to the work; determining whether the certification information corresponds to the work description information; and in response to determining that the certification information corresponds to the work description information, registering the certification information and the unique identifier of the work with a blockchain platform. With the solution of present disclosure, ownership affirmation and verification for works may be achieved, and leakage and falsification of the works that may occur in a centralized platform may be avoided.
