Provided is a novel urban rail traffic system, comprising a plurality of rail traffic vehicles (100), an air running rail (200) matched with the plurality of rail traffic vehicles (100), and a traffic control system being in communication connection with the plurality of rail traffic vehicles (100) and the air running rail (200), wherein, the traffic control system comprises at least one background server (300), a plurality of sub-servers (400) and a plurality of clients (500), each sub-server (400) and each client (500) are both in communication connection with the background server (300), each sub-server (400) is also correspondingly in communication connection with the plurality of rail traffic vehicles (100) running on the near air running rail (200), and the two adjacent sub-servers (400) and the two adjacent rail traffic vehicles (100) are in communication connection with each other. The novel urban rail traffic system has the advantages of fast lane changing, stable and safe operation, short waiting time, no congestion, good taking environment, convenient operation, convenient and rapid traveling, low time mistaking rate, low labor lost rate and low manufacturing cost.
