A sparse-based space-time adaptive processing method, belonging to the technical field of signal processing, and comprising: constructing a virtual space-time snapshot according to a space-time snapshot covariance matrix of a coprime array-coprime pulse (S101); constructing a sparse-based space-time adaptive processing filter according to the virtual space-time snapshot (S102); and performing clutter signal estimation according to the space-time adaptive processing filter to obtain a detection signal (S103). The method provides a sparse-based space-time adaptive processing method of coprime array and coprime pulse recurrence interval. The O(MN) degree of freedom can be achieved using only M+N×1 physical sensors due to the fact that the coprime array canprovide the capability of larger array aperture; by means of said advantages, the Direction of Arrival (DOA) estimation precision is remarkably enhanced, and the coprime array is applied to the field of space-time adaptive processing (STAP), such that the number of snapshots is greatly reduced, and the system cost is reduced.
