The invention relates to a method for diluting, mixing and/or aliquoting two fluids (F1, F2) using a microfluidic system, comprising at least two pump chambers (1, 2) which are interconnected by at least one microfluidic channel (3). The at least one channel (3) is designed such that at least some of the first fluid (F1) remains in the channel (3) after the pumping action. The method comprises the following steps: to begin with, at least one of the pump chambers (1) is filled with a first fluid (F1), the first fluid (F1) is then pumped through the channel (3), some of the first fluid (F1) remaining in the channel (3). The portion of the first fluid (F1) that remains in the channel (3) is then ascertained. Finally, the channel (3) is flushed using a second fluid (F2).
