AUTOMATIC EVALUATION SYSTEM OF ENGLISH PRONUNCIATION OF NON-NATIVE SPEAKER AND EVALUATION METHOD USING SAME

The present invention relates to an automatic evaluation system of English pronunciation by a software method and an evaluation method using the same. The evaluation system quantitatively compares linguistic features of English with acoustic features extracted from a speech of an English speaking test taker, scores the compared difference, and automatically represents the score. What kind of linguistic feature will be extracted is a technical core in the construction of the automatic evaluation system and the present invention uses features of spoken language related to the speech prosody and fluency of English. The features use a point that a non-native speaker having low proficiency has a huge difference from a native speaker when speaking English due to the interference of his/her native language. The present invention includes: a voice recognition unit which recognizes the speaking of a non-native speaker; a voice column conversion unit which converts the recognized voice into text; a feature extraction unit which extracts features of speech rhythm and features of fluency; and a calculation unit which evaluates the speaking by a quantitative value.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2019
