Systems and methods for communicating in a wireless network using a first radio access technology (RAT) and a supporting RAT are disclosed. The first connection can be established with the access point using the first RAT and the second connection can be established with the access point using the supporting RAT. The timing of the first connection may be synchronized based at least in part on the timeline of the supporting RAT. The data may be communicated to the access point via at least a first connection based at least in part on synchronizing the timing and the control data may be communicated to the access point via at least a second connection, RTI ID = 0.0 connection. /RTI
