The present invention discloses a purpose of outer membrane protein B in Xoo (OprBXo) of Xanthomonas oryzae pv. Oryzae. According to the present invention, an OprBXo gene is knocked-out from Xanthomonas oryzae pv. Oryzae such that resistance to environmental stress in Xanthomonas oryzae pv. Oryzae can be reduced. Moreover, the over-expression of the OprBXo gene in Xanthomonas oryzae pv. Oryzae can lead to reduction or suppression of toxicity, mobility, and biofilm formation in Xanthomonas oryzae pv. Oryzae. Accordingly, by controlling the expression of the OprBXo gene, symptoms of bacterial leaf blight of rice caused by infection of Xanthomonas oryzae pv. Oryzae is inhibited and transmission of Xanthomonas oryzae pv. Oryzae is prevented, such that bacterial leaf blight of rice is expected to be ultimately controlled.
