The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for forecasting production for a shale gas well in a transitional flow region using a machine learning method. More specifically, the apparatus and method may derive an accurate result with less error than a conventional method of predicting productivity for a shale gas well by generating an artificial neural network model based on data to calculate future production for the shale gas well in a transitional flow region and calculating future production behavior and ultimate proved reserve with the calculated future production and production data for the shale gas well in a conventional transitional flow region using a decline curve method.
