FIELD: technological processes.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metal working and can be used for monitoring the cutting tool wear. Control method includes the use of two chronometric sensors mounted on a single axis of rotation of the workpiece on the shaft of the gearmotor and on the tail-stock of the machine, from different sides of the cutting tool. During the processing of the part in the machine controller, sensors receive digital time information in the time domain, from which the frequency spectral characteristics of two separate chronograms of rotation with the division into low and high frequency regions with the border of 1,000 Hz are determined to calculate from them an indirect quasi-proportional wear parameter of the cutting tool, which is defined as the root mean square value of the parameters obtained for each channel of both sensors with the possibility of further proportional transition from the value of the wear parameter to the tool wear value at the current time.;EFFECT: use of the invention allows to increase the accuracy and reliability of tool wear monitoring in real time.;1 cl, 8 dwg
