FIELD: medicine.;SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a device for sealing through puncture holes in patient's tissue, comprising a sealing device having a first section made of lyophilized hydrogel, wherein the first section is expanded when exposed to a physiological fluid medium within the puncture opening, wherein the first section contains a hydrogel containing chitosan bound to at least one polyethylene glycol polymer, wherein, when exposed to an aqueous physiological fluid, the hydrogel extends and seals the through puncture hole in the tissue, and a guide catheter having a cavity, wherein the sealing means is placed in the guiding catheter cavity, wherein the device has a smaller diameter than the diameter of the puncture opening.
