The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for controlling the production in a cleaning shop with a controller (15) and with at least one feeding machine (1, 7) and at least one machine (7, 12, 14) to be fed, wherein the to be fed machine (7, 12, 14) has a level measurement and the machines (1, 7, 12, 14) are connected to the controller (15). For each feeding machine (1, 7), a production area with a production minimum and a production maximum is determined, wherein the machine to be fed (7, 12, 14) determines the production of a feeding part of the feeding machine (1, 7) on the basis of the filling level. When the production minimum is undershot, a feeding part of the feeding machine (1, 7) is switched off, wherein the shutdown takes place independently of a filling state of the machine (7, 12, 14) to be fed.
