A method for operating a network infrastructure-side network entity of a cell-based wireless communication network is proposed. The method comprises: predicting (202) a cell-related allocation information of sidelink resources of a sidelink channel in an unlicensed frequency domain; Receiving (204) a scheduling request message for the sidelink channel on an uplink channel from a roadside network entity; Determining (206) a scheduling grant message for the roadside network entity in dependence on the predicted cell-related allocation information, the scheduling grant message comprising an assignment of at least one sidelink resource of the sidelink channel to the roadside network entity; and sending (208) the scheduling grant message on a downlink channel to the roadside network entity.
