The invention relates to a biphasic catalytic process to produce an organic fraction containing mono-oxygenated molecules comprising six carbon atoms from a bio-feedstock containing carbohydrates , wherein the carbohydrates contained in the bio-feedstock provided to the reactor vessel in step b) show a crystallinity equal or lower than 40% as determined according to XRD; and wherein it further comprises subjecting the organic fraction recovered in step f) to a fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) process.
