To detect an abnormality after door closing without using an elevator control signal.SOLUTION: An elevator abnormality monitoring system 100 installed in an elevator 1 is configured such that a diagnosis device 12 determines that a car 2 is stopped when a three-axis acceleration sensor 11 does not detect acceleration in the moving direction of a car 2 for over a prescribed period of time, and determines that a car door 3 is closing when the three-axis acceleration sensor 11 detects acceleration in the door closing direction of the car door 3.
