To prevent fingers from being pinched when a sliding door slides and the generation of impact noise, and increase the braking distance to ensure that the door frame can be hidden even if the sliding distance of the sliding door is the same.SOLUTION: A braking device includes a base, a starting lock tool, a movable stopper, a forward lock tool, a connector, a spring, and a damper. The starting lock tool, the forward lock tool, and the movable stopper are slidably mounted on the base. The starting lock tool and the movable stopper are connected by a connector mounted on the base. The distal end side of the spring in the expansion and contraction direction and the distal end side of the rod of the damper are connected to the forward lock tool attached to the base. The braking device can be accommodated in the case. When the case is attached to a lower part of the sliding door and the sliding door is closed or opened, the braking device brakes the sliding door.
