To provide methods of screening for the onset of a large intestine neoplasm or for predisposition to onset of large intestine neoplasm in individuals.SOLUTION: The invention is directed to a nucleic acid molecule of which changes in DNA methylation levels are indicative of the onset and/or progression of large intestine neoplasms such as adenoma or adenocarcinoma. The DNA methylation status is usefully applied to diagnosis and/or monitoring of colorectal neoplasms such as colorectal adenocarcinoma but not limited thereto. Thus, a related aspect is directed to a method of screening for the onset, predisposition to the onset and/or progression of a neoplasm by screening modulation of the DNA methylation with one or a plurality of nucleic acid molecules.SELECTED DRAWING: None
