PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quantify the ambiguity of user's intention so as to present an appropriate retrieval result to a user.SOLUTION: An ambiguity evaluation device includes: storage means that stores a keyword used for retrieval and categories corresponding to retrieval results obtained by retrieval from retrieval target data by using the keyword, in association with each other; and ambiguity evaluation means that calculates the similarity between the categories for each keyword, and evaluates the ambiguity of the keyword from the calculated similarity.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
