PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately obtain the relationship between temperature distribution of piping and flow velocity of fluid flowing inside the piping.SOLUTION: A relevant information setting method for obtaining relevant information indicating the relationship between flow velocity of fluid flowing inside piping and temperature distribution on a surface of the piping, includes: a heat exchange step of performing heat exchange at a predetermined portion on the surface of the piping; an analysis step of acquiring an analysis value of temperature distribution on the surface of the piping in a state where heat exchange is being performed at the surface of the piping; a heat transfer rate correction coefficient value acquisition step of acquiring a value of a heat transfer rate correction coefficient, which corrects the analysis value of the temperature distribution on the surface of the piping in a state where heat exchange is being performed at the surface of the piping and depends on a distance from the predetermined portion; and a relevant information setting step of correcting the analysis value acquired in the analysis step on the basis of the value of the heat transfer rate correction coefficient acquired in the heat transfer rate correction coefficient value acquisition step, and obtaining the relevant information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
